Ariel Gail

Prof. Gail S. Goodman, Director of the Psychology Department and Director of the Center for Public Policy Research is at University of California Davis. It is believed that she was the one responsible as the pioneer of modern studies of the memory of witnesses and children as witnesses. Professor Goodman has published extensively, received many grants and been recognized with several international and national prizes. She has worked with a variety of government agencies and institutions across the world on studies and policy issues pertaining to children who are victims of the legal system. She is a consultant at the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center, formerly the Multidisciplinary Interview Center of Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She is a Fellow of both the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association, (Divisions Experimental Psychology and Developmental Psychology Society for Child and Family Policy and Practice American Psychology Law Society Psychology of Women and Traumatic Stress 55). She was a founder member of the American Professional Society for the Abuse of Children, the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development as well as the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. Professor Goodman has been president of three divisions (Division Society for Policy and Child Development as well as Practice Division of the American Psychology Law Society, and Division Developmental Psychology) and one Section (Child Maltreatment) of the American Psychological Association.
